Common Questions

What we do can be very technical. And the process can be confusing. We have created this constantly changing list of FAQ’s (common questions) to make understanding us a bit easier. If you ask someone on our team a question, and it’s not here, you can expect to see it here soon!

Simply click on your question and you’ll see the answer.  If you think we can answer it better, let us know!

Great question!

We focus on creating content that talks about your products and services and getting it placed all over the internet. We create articles, forums, social content, etc. None of this is in any way what people refer to as “black hat.”

Here are the techniques that are considered to be “black hat.” We do not do any of the following, to be clear. :)

Hidden text

IP delivery

301 redirects (we only use them properly, when moving content… not to increase rankings).

Throw Away Domains

Cloaking

Paid links

Keyword stuffing

Automatically generated keyword pages

Mispsellings (Other than defining a misspelled word in content)

Scraping

Ad only pages

Blog spam (Such as having software go out and autospam blogs in their comments)

Domain grabbing

Fake news

New exploits

Rogue bots

Hidden affiliate links

Doorway pages

Multiple subdomains

Twitter automation (We automate only when spreading worthwhile content)

Deceptive headlines

Google Bowling

Invisible links

Different content for search engines than user

Slanderous linkbait

Map spam

There’s no ethical way to answer that question. It depends on numerous factors including:

  • The age of your site
  • The authority of your site (according to the search engines)
  • How much marketing has already taken place with your site.
  • How many other sites are marketing for the same phrases.

There’s more to it that that, but anyone who promises you any type of specific rankings is not thinking clearly or doesn’t know what they’re talking about.

Upon sign up, you’ll receive a “baseline report” that will show your current ranking for the keywords we are targeting. Then, beginning one week later, you will receive an email each week that will show the current positions of the keywords we’re targeting along with the increase or decrease in rankings.

We measure both Google and Bing.

Here is a screenshot of what our reports look like:

At RankPop, we believe in link diversity. A link profile that lasts long term consists of links from articles, blogs (comments and posts), press releases, directories, social bookmarking sites, social networking sites, news sites and more. Also, a long terms strategy includes high page rank sites as well as low page rank sites. Additionally, both nofollow and dofollow links are important. We have a large group of test sites that we “over-optimize.” This helps us to learn the best strategies for promoting your website without the risk of Google thinking you’re doing something unnatural.

Here are some examples of the different types of links that we build.
